Of all the decisions we have made for our family, choosing an education for our children has been one of the most important! My daughter was almost three years old when I started researching education options. Like many Christian families, my husband and I both grew up going to public school, so we didn’t have the last generation to help guide us and share their experiences so this was a brand new adventure! Along the way, we quickly realized public school and homeschooling were not an option. I found a small school online and read the handbook. It immediately stood out that this school not only focused on academic excellence but also the desire to cultivate Biblical virtue. Once I called, I met the founder of the school who had over 30 years of public and private teaching experience and had raised four men with her husband who have gone on to be pillars in their community. She has such a passion for teaching and the Lord, she started this school as a ministry. Our daughter started school there and our son started two years later and I must say it’s one of the best decisions we have ever made. Their learning is parallel to the way God designed their growth--from memorization and learning to make an argument to formulating their own opinions while being trained to engage the culture in a loving way for Jesus. Technology trends and tools will change, but our children are learning how to thrive in an ever-changing world with a focus on Biblical principles.
